Enhancer

Akvis EnhancerAnother HDR producing software is Akvis Enhancer. Enhancer works as a “one click”, or, in other words, fully automatic tone mapping tool. All you have to do with Enhancer is load images to the program and, may be, play with the settings afterwards. No intermediate hdr file, no manual alignment pains. Some color postprocessing after and you are done. A quick job.
Lets look at the workflow and the output quality though.
Enhancer has the usual Akvis program interface with a large preview space on the left, navigator and tools on the right panel with quick tips in the bottom.

photomatixHDR Soft Photomatix Pro is a standalone program (there exists also a Photoshop plug-in version) creating High Dynamics Range images from a set of differently exposed shots. Photomatix easy interface and good quality makes it one of the most popular software dealing with hdr. This article takes a look at what and how the program can do.
Photomatix installation is a usual procedure with no hidden obstacles. It goes smooth and predictable. On the first launce you are offered a quick tutorial (very clear and to the point) and a user manual. Right there on the screen you get menu paths for generating, tone mapping and blending images.

Merging to HDR in Photoshop

hdr imageStarting with CS2 Photoshop offers merging of several differently exposed photos to an HDR (High Dynamics Range) image. As there are many standalone programs capable of producing HDR images and in many cases solely devoted to this task we start the series on HDR with this Photoshop command lying so closely at hand.

Making hdr in Photoshop has same two steps as in any other program. First we merge several differently exposed photos to an hdr image. After that we have to adapt the resulted hdr image for accessible media through tone mapping procedure - the adaptation of high color range to the usual low range.
